There were four fan clutches used in '67: a primary (Eaton coil) and an optional substitute (Schwitzer bar) for SB engine and the same primary or [OPT] clutches for BB engines. The difference was the length of the shaft since the engine to fan shroud geometry changed with SB vs BB engine configuration.
Factory assemblers were free to mix & match between the prime and [OPT] source suppliers and delivered production units varied, some with Eaton coil clutches on them; others with Schwitzer bar clutches. The A/C option did NOT affect which fan clutch was used.- Top
