    Problems with C5s????

My 2002 has 23K miles on it. Beyond the time period for warranty.
I have had 2 computers, Both headlight motors, fuel sender go out.
Fortunatly this work JUST under time expiration. Around $2K of work if not under warranty. It is back at dealer now because "cruise control" stopped working.
They said it needs a new brake switch???
Have any other C2 owners have problems . Don

I don't know about the other problems you mention but I had both of the fuel sends on my 97 coupe go bad. This is a known problem with the early C-5's but I'm surprised they hadn't fixed the issue by 2002. The problem was discovered very early I believe GM put out a Tech bulletin covering it. My car was out of warranty at the time but had less than 30K miles on it. I wrote to the GM district office in Atlanta, and ultimately GM covered the cost of repairing both units. Once repaired no problems.

      Don,

I ordered my 2002 Corvette late in year, it is #33893, have 15K on it now, only problem since new, left rear tire looses air after a day. I just add air everytime I drive it. To many horror stories with dealerships (over on the Corvette Forum site) to trust them with car.

my 3 C-5s,97,99 and 2002 were trouble free in the 10 to 12 K miles i kept them. my C-6 has also been trouble free in the first 6K miles. things like the fuel gauge problems were solved by just using the proper brand of gasoline and i never had the dealer repair them. there was a recall on the altenator on one but that was the only time mine ever saw the dealer. the brake switch which releases the cruise control may only need adjusted. some dealers "make" repairs to increase their bottom line. i have bought all 10 of my corvettes and 20+ new chevys from the same small town dealer. i tell corvette owners to raise or lower the head light only at low speeds or when you are stopped because the wind resistance against those "air brakes" cause extra strain on the motors and plastic gears.

Amazing, I also have 2002 with the same left rear tire that looses pressure. They should issue a recall! Sorry to hear of all the other problems.
