    C2 Exhast Bezels

As stated in my previous post I am installing under car exhaust on my 65. I have puchased repro exhaust bezels and they don't fit well at all. The curve of the flange isn't right, and the screw holes don't line up. I have an original exhaust panel, that just came off a car that was being converted to side exhaust. Does anyone know of a vendor that carries a repro bezel that fits well??

    Thanks again,

    George

George, are you sure you have a 65 panel and 65 bezels. Mike

      Mike,
As sure as one can be. I purchased the panel from a fellow who converted his car to side exhaust and we believe the panel is the original. The bezels are repro for 64 - 65. The fit problem is with the curve of the flange, if I hold it tight at the top the bottom is raised off the panel about a 1/4 inch it appears it just doesn't have enough curve in it to follow the curve in the panel.

      Thanks,

      George

        George,
I just looked at my original '65 rear valance and bezels. They are not what I would call a perfect fit either. With all screws in place, there is about an 1/8" gap on both sides of the left bezel and about 3/16" gap around the bottom quarter on the right side.

You may be unable to get a perfect, seamless fit.

        Regards,
        Gene

          Gene,

Thanks for the response, I put the panel on the car tonight and tried the bezels again. I probably have the same kind of fit you have, or not much worse than that. Mine are tight left to right, but 3/16 to 1/4 inch open top to bottom.
