    67' BB TRI-Power

I just rebuilt my tri-power carbs and installing them.

    Question:

What is the best proceedure to correctly installing the fuel lines and preventing them from leaks.

    Thanks.

if the lines are new i would put a spare holley float bowl fitting in a bench vise and tighten each line into it to form the flare to the fitting. use never sieze on the gas line fitting threads to cut down on the friction and make the lines easier to get tight. teflon tape on the threads will also do the same thing just do not get any into the lines

Definately use Clem's suggestions, especially if you're installing new lines and blocks. You'll be glad you did.

i hope you did not buy stainless steel lines

because they are almost imposible to get sealed because forming the flare work hardens the tubing and it will not conform to the seats in the fittings

check the lines with a magnet, stainless should be non magnetic. you can check with the supplier you got these from

                  Re: Not SS

The key is to get fittings to align perfectly. I purchased brand new set of steel lines and my father-in-law still had to spend time with small pipe bender reforming. If the fittings aren't straight they will leak no matter how tight you make them

                    Re: tri-power fuel lines installation

Installed the lines, only one small leak from the front carb, which stopped after a quick 1/8" turn.

                    Thanks everone.
