    C-1 Trunk Lock Ledge

    What is a good way to make the protruding ledge over the trunk lock on a 1959? Should I use bondo, fiberglass or some other method? Where can I find a good picture of the protruding area? Thanks in advance. Jimmy

      Jimmy - Years ago I had pretty good luck...

      ...using bonding compound to build up the ledge, feeling it was stronger than bondo and easier to shape than fiberglass. There is a pretty good close - up picture in Nolands book that I used as a model. Came out pretty good...

                  Jim..I wonder if you could take a clay impression of the trunk buldge from another trunk lid and pour a mix of resin and fiberglass into it. Then bond and trim to the new trunk.

                      Duraglass works well too. It works the same way as resin, but it already contains some fiberglass strans and it is very hard. Work well in this area.
