1963 - Original Parking Lights vs Reproductions

Are there many differences one has to be aware of from the original Parking Lights to the reproductions they are making. The ones being sold by LICS can they pass NCRS Judging. What are the differences between the Original and Repros (besides the age)? Many Thanks....

      Hi!

      Collin

Check the color of the wires. I purchased a set from Paragon and they are not made by Trim Parts as are my tail lights. The wires are different color. You also should inspect the crimp at the end of the rubber shielding.

Nobody makes them. You can try taking a beat up original and cutting the boot off, but the wiring is different on the later lights, and the boot doesn't fit well.

I tried this with so so results. Also tried heat shrink tubing that I ordered from McMaster/Carr. That didn't work too well either.

There are also 2 styles of parking lights used in 63, early and late. The early 63 doesn't have the bosses on the back, so the lens screws protrude through the back. The later 63's and up have the bosses.

SO, there are several permutations of these light possible. Chuck
