    82 Idle

All of a sudden my idle has started to flucuate. It is worse upon start up then tends to slow down but never smooths out. It will vary from 500-1200rpm at its worse. If anyone has ran across this problem yet let me know. Also, where is the *!@@!* fuel filter on this thing.

    Re: 82 Idle

Sounds like a problem with the idle air control motor that bleeds air to privide idle speed. it is controlled by the computer. A scanner might show if the proper signal is being sent. are you getting a "check engine" light?

I've usually found that that kind of idle speed variation is caused by a vacuum leak.

Jeff, I had the same problem on my 82 and it turned out to be a vacumn leak. Paul O
