C2 Need new AC Compressor

I had my 66 Ac compressor rebuilt in fall 2003. Early 2005 the front seal (ceramic) started to leak. I returned it to the rebuilder and after installation and charging with R12 the second seal failed within 3 months. I give up.

Where would I get a new A6 compressor without the temp switch?

There are a few NOS A 6 compressors available from various vendors. Do not be too concerned about the temp switch. You can remove the plug from your compressor and reinstall it in the new one

Thanks Dick,
My compressor has a pressure relief device on the rear plate. Assume you are saying this can be interchanged with newer A6 that have a heat switch hole?

I bought a new A6 compressor on ebay and it had metric threads on the mounting flange. That would require drilling and tapping the AC mounting brackets, not my first choice.

I believe that you can convert the metric threads to standard threads with not too much effort.

I bought a rebuilt one from a parts chain (O'Rielly or Auto Zone) about 5 or 6 years ago and it is still working great. Don H.
