    C-3 L-79 Engine question

As I read it, on a 327/350 HP 1968 the judging manual says there should be a cast iron thermo gooseneck, The manual also says there should be a front lifting hook on the second bolt back, drivers side. If you have both, the upper radiator hose doesn't clear the lifting hook.

Anyone have an original 327/350 HP with the correct thermo cover and lifting hook? Could you e-mail me a picture?

    Thanks, John

    John-----

1968 Corvette with L-79 did not use a cast iron thermostat housing. It used aluminum housing GM #3877660. Earlier L-79 did use the cast iron housing. But, 1968 did not.

      Re: C-3 L-79 Engine question

John, the wording in the manual is not clear. The only cast iron thermostat housing is on the L/88 engines. That mistake will be noted for the next revision of the 68-69 manual. As Joe says the 660 is correct for your car
