C6 & C5 Memory Save Battery Disconnect

Are there any other options for disconnecting a battery from a C5&C6 that will save the computer memory? Appreciate your input and suggestions. Thanks, Gary....

There is a unit that plugs into the accessory/cigar lighter plug available for about $10. It uses a 9 volt battery.

The "green knob" switch is available in a version with a fused bypass wire, specifically to continue powering keep-alive memories while the main battery cable is disconnected. Lots of catalog outfits have them, including Griot's Garage (www.griotsgarage.com).

I agree with what you mention if it for in door shows. If Gary Chesnut wants to disconect the battery for storage and not for an door show I would recommend a battery tender device which Lectric Limited seems to have the price.

why disconnect because my C-6 sets for 5-6 months a year and all i do is charge the battery once a month. the first of every month i charge my C-6,2 ATV and a lawn tractor batteries at 2 amps for 2 hours. my ATV batteries have lasted since 1997 by doing this. these small batteries are junk if you let them go dead.
