    67 BB Hood Fix

    Dear Members,

A couple weeks back I posted a problem with a gap at the front of a 67 BB repop hood. I had many great responses, but in the end, my painter Buddy had to cut 1/4" off the hinge and weld back together.

This cured the problem, but now there is another gap on the driver's side half way down on the top of fender. We jokingly call this the very rare "BB Engine Site Hole." The hood is warped all over the place.

It's OK, the guy's car is all wrong anyway, except for the NCRS sticker. He sure loves the Glasurit shine. Buyers of repop 67 BB hoods beware!

    Thanks for all the help!

Wouldn't it be great to have one of those

with a 327 decal on them. Only kidding guys

My small block hood looks like it fits the same way, with the little hump in the middle.

Mine is not the best but I have learned to live with it. And I don't have the nerve to put 327 emblems on there. The black has already stretched things a little far.

That's called Hood Bulge, had it on mine, but I fixed it before I got it painted. You need to cut and separate the inner skirt from the top surround panel, in the engine bay.

Hammer small wooden wedges between the skirt and top surround until the panel is level with the hood. Then rebond and blackout the skirt. Then remove the wedges and rebond there too. Don't even have to touch the paint. PT
