    C2 master cylinder

should a correct C2 master cylinder for a '67 be date coded ? I believe there should be one on the warning switch beneath the master cylinder but no where else. Anyone had any experience with the repro units from Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes ?

    thanks

    from CSSB for a 67.

Correct markings, correct wording on cap, but I think stainless steel bails. No date code, but I'm not sure if all of the originals were dated.

This one hasn't been judged yet, but pretty soon.

    Pretty good deal for $100.

      Mike -

Some 509/"DC" master cylinders had a very tiny julian date stamped on the machined surface around the front outlet, most didn't - it's not judged. I don't recall seeing a date code on the distribution block.

        Re: C2 master cylinder

I have a complete system from Stainless Steel Brakes on my 66 Coupe. It was installed 6 years ago. Master cylinder, brake lines, calipers and parking brake. Has been trouble free. I live very close to their plant and got the system from there. Beautiful system.

Jerry, If that MC is a 509 you got a great deal. I paid $225.on e bay for a rebuilt 509 & had to buy a correct cap. Don

I do not think there is ANY date codes on 67' MC.

Take a look at this one, Don

              That's a 5 under the bail.

Not sure if the part number is supposed to be right side up or upside down. The 67 judging manual is confusing on this. Also has stainless steel bleeder valves.
But what the heck, it works for me.

Used your pics as a model, John

"Almost" got the brake valve and lines to your standard, but not quite there.

Thanks again, your advice is appreciated.
