    C2 Chalk Mark

I am posting a photo of the center clamp plate on the rear spring of my 66 coupe. Is this a possible factory mark, or was it drawn by Bubba's kid when While he was installing the 15x12 keystone mags?
    Thanks,
    Frank

Is that center bolt bolted all the way through with a washer on the underside?

      Wayne,
I took this picture about three weeks ago. I looked at this picture and some others I took. I have not removed the spring from the car. From what I remember, the bolt is bolted through the spring. I cannot see the head in other pictures I have. I believe the nut is tightened against the spring without a washer. Do you see a problem?
      Thanks
      Frank

My guess would be its an inspection mark. The inspectors on the assembly line often mark items on the cars as they go by as a verification that the part is in place. It was quite common in the assembly plant I worked in a few years ago.

I have the same mark on my original 66BBCoupe. Since I have all original inspection marks and hash marks, in evidence, I assume this to be inspection mark.
