I have a 1968 L-71 ( 435 HP ) that has been brutalized. I am trying to restore it to as original as possible. The radiator that is in the car now is a Harrison with two tags. One says "MK" and the other "AD". There is a round ring, passenger side upper, that has a 1 or an I at the top and the numbers 32936 upside down on the bottom of the ring. Can anyone tell me what I have or what I should have.Neither the NCRS Judging Manual nor Chevrolet By The Numbers cover radiators. Also any other literature that I should have to help with identification. Thanks Tom

Re: 1968 Radiator
Tom-----
I have confirmed that the 66-68 Corvette big block radiator did use the "MK" coding. The problem is that some later radiators did, too.
Here are some features that you can look for to narrow it down to a 66-68 radiator:
1) 22-1/2" CORE width (this is NOT the width of the entire radiator; just the core);
2) filler neck on right (passneger) side tank;
3) filler neck nearly perpendicular to the top of the tank; just a slight angle on a slightly beveled surface. Some similar later rads have filler neck at nearly 45 degree angle on "beveled" corner of tank;
4) if the radiator is an original-to-the-car radiator (or very early SERVICE) it will not have fittings on the passenger side tank for transmission oil cooler. If present, these will be seen on the REAR surface of the tank, above the lower radiator hose outlet;
5) "Harrison" is usually embossed on the passenger side tank of original radiators and many GM SERVICE radiators.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

When present, the tag is usually on the right side tank. Sometimes, it's right at the interface of the core and the tank about 1/3 down from the top. Sometimes it's soldered to the side of the tank about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way down. Sometimes, it's not present, at all.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
