    C2 fuses

In my dads 67 we are going to have judged next week at the Mason Dixon. The fuse in the car are the regular clear tube style. But we know originality they used colored band fusses. In our judging manual it does not state what style to use. Which one is correct

    Re: C2 fuses

From previous posts here, the only place you will find the marked colored fuses, with the color on the inside are from donor cars. The older cars may be hard to find in some area recycle yards. Being judged, is color on he outside of the glass less judging points or just the clear glass?

        Keith -

The ones with the color band inside the glass are correct, and the receptacles on the fuse block are marked with the amperage rating for each fuse.

Keith., et. al. - Please note that both Bussman (Buss brand) and Littelfuse (Littelfuse brand) were OEM suppliers for the 67 and up color-coded glass fuses. The Buss fuses used the color applied as a band to the inside of the glass at least on the 1-1/4" fuses, while Littelfuse applied a colored "dot" to the outside of the glass. Both used the colored "dot" on the outside of the glass on the shorted length fuses. Neither used a colored band on the outside of the glass as found on some of the currently available "reproduction" color coded glass fuses. See The Corvette Restorer, vol 29, No. 3, Winter 2003, pages18-20 for more details. Pete
