C2 strut rod bushing end caps

I noticed that the rear strut rods on my 66 convertible are missing the end caps on each inner strut bushing, making it difficult to tighten the cam bolt. Can the strut rods be dropped to add these end caps with minimal disassembly of the rear shock, lower bracket that bolts to the carrier housing, etc.?

    Regards,
    Dave K.

I don't know of any way of doing it without removing the lower shock mount and the cam bolts. Then you might want to look at the bushings real closely and make sure they don't need to be replaced. Terry

Clup, You are getting as bad as me with the short answers. :d It should be rather self evident. just take the nut off, pull the pull the bolt out and place the spacers on the end of the bushings. Reinstall. Set the camber back where it was.

            Dave,

Make sure you keep weight on the wheel on the side you're working on. If you don't, the wheel will lower, putting the strut on an angle that won't allow it to slip back in place easily.
