    Holley Carb Help Please

I have a Holley carburetor with air horn stamping of "LIST 6238-1" and dated "241". Is it an original 1971 base engine carburetor or a later replacement?
    Thanks all, Kent #6201

By base engine carburetor, I assume you mean not for a Corvette? Corvette base engines stopped being powered by Holleys after 1967. 1971 was definitely powered by a Quadrajet. 7041212 (auto) or 7041213 (4 speed).

Holley was for the LT-1 and LS-6 only in 1971.

The Holley 6238-1 was used on a '72 Camaro Z/28 automatic, and requires a different intake manifold than the original Q-Jet manifold for your car.

Many thanks Patrick, John & Sal

I should have remembered '71 Corvettes (not LT-1's) used the Quadrajet ... DUH. The carb may have been on my '71 when I bought it a long time ago. Since then, I restored it (body-on) and sold it prior to purchasing the '67. The carb is in my parts collection of stuff presently being sorted.
