vin nos

Please help me....I bought a car from an Alabama restorer shop who works on mid year cars only. They said that they sold a mathing nos car, but my engine pad reads "TO4I4JC" and the protecto plate reads "TO306 CH"
What is wrong here. Did they sell me a restamped block or is the protecto plate wrong? By the way, the protecto plate does have the complete vin nos on it that matches the car?

Something is wrong there. The protecto plate is probably correct but unless you tell us the year of this car it will be very dificult to provide assistance.

Yes, if the protecto-plate is original to the car, the VIN will match the car

The Protect-O-Plate is the strange thing here. A "CH" suffix code was never used for any Corvette engine. Also, it was never used for any big block engine, Corvette or otherwise. So, I can only assume that, if you have it correct, it's some sort of mistake when the P-O-P was coded.
