Sebring 2006 3/19/2006 La Bomba Racing
The Indy 500 is a long ceremonial event with many traditional pre race events that really lengthens the day. But the 12 hours of Sebring has a much longer day with more diversions and a more accessible event, with only 150,000 folk to bump into. Plus at Sebring there were 25 plus Corvettes racing: from a 1957 to C6R factory. This is now an annual event to support the Fatherland. I only support the home team.

PS We really should get together at Lime Rock: I'll have a tent for any NCRS members needing a rest. (National Camel Racer Society. ) I guarantee you'll have a ball.

Joe
It's just one of the race week vehicles I photographed at Sebring. I'll get more jpegs up this week of the race events. Being a photo journalist is rough. I worked day and night from Wednesday through Sunday. Bob Wechsler ran a nice White 1957 with dual Blue stripes, Blue cove and Red rims. I don't know how he fared in the SVRA race, but he sure was having fun. Maybe, he was working too. The Corvette Corral gave out a dash plaque with a C6 and #7 that raced in 1956, giving hope that it would be there, but I did not see it. What a ball, errr rough week it was.
Geoffrey
PS I'm putting in for 40 regular and 40 OT. I worked by ***** off, but it's a job; somebody has to do it and I do it for you guys.- Top

Re: Sebring 2006 3/19/2006 La Bomba Racing
Hi! Geoffrey
I was looking forward to your Sebring report, I watch some of the race on Speed Chanel. My wife and I are planning on attending the Lime Rock race in June/July and this will be my first road race event, can't wait to see those CR6's run . Is there a place to park the Corvettes that is secure?
Thanks!
