    Rebuilt '63 Still Smoking

Could not wait for the weekend, so we pulled the intake manifold off of my 327/340 last night. Very interesting. In looking over the gaskets we can see where there is very little contact compression, if any, on the lower edge of the right hand side gasket. The left side is a bit better, but not much. I put a straight edge over the mating surfaces and guess what, daylight peeks through! The intake showed signs of oil being sucked in as well!

Well the manifold is off to the machine shop to see what can be done with it.

I am going to need thicker intake gaskets in all probability. Has anyone ever doubled up; used two sets sandwiched together to get the extra thickness? I know FelPro makes them .120" but those are not "correct".
