I am finally taking Joe Lucia's advice & replacing the flywheel on my C2 427/390 to correct some of Bubba's work. I did a google search using the flywheel part number given to me by Joe in an earlier post (GM #3991469). Found several locations specifically for corvette's all listed the part for around $180.
Google also directed me to several locations that claim to use this same flywheel # for their Jeep CJ's. One such site was
Here the flywheel is listed for $110.
The ad says "Bellhousing & Components 3991469 for 1972-86 Jeep CJ with V8 GM Flywheel ASM with standard Transmission.
Does anyone know for sure if this is the same flywheel as used in the C2/C3 corvettes?
