Why ask Joe?
We all should be grateful for the knowledge that Joe Lucia brings to the board and I for one try not to ask questions of Joe that I can easily find the answers to myself. Arthur Gould's adn Bill Mock's contact information can easily be found by looking in the NCRS DB archives. Why ask Joe if you can find the information yourself? It's easy and much quicker to search the archives than to add to Joe's workload.
Just my opinion,

Why single Joe out?
I've been asking questions here since 1999 and I appreciate the fact that Joe has answered many of them. However, just my two cents....I think it is just plain rude to the other knowledgeable viewer's who are online here to write a question and specifically ask for Joe or Duke, et al.
That's just my Miss Manner's point of view. Your point may vary, so do it any way you want. If you word your thread topic correctly, Joe will see it...absolutely, positively.- Top

Lyndon, why not ask Joe where
a Sears Auto store is in Modesto, CA or Portland, OR. I'm sure Joe can find that out for me and if I ask Joe this question I won't have to go do a Google search myself and waste my time trying to find the answer to that challenging question. Yes, Joe often knows the answers, but In my opinion, Joe's expertise should be used and not abused, particularly when we can't find the answer quicker and easier on our own.

Re: Lyndon, why not ask Joe where
With respect for Joe's time and the feelings of others who participate on this board--if you have a specific question for a specific person--just find one of their posts and then email them directly. Much more considerate that way!- Top

Re: Why ask Joe?
I'm not sure why the man asked Joe a question he could have found himself but does that entitle members to berate and scold him? I think not!
It's nice to run to Joes defense but I'm sure he didn't need it. I suspect if Joe had something to say to the man he would have been kind and polite enough to contact him directly rather than post a public response. That's because Joe knows we all make mistakes and we all need help sometimes. Not to mention that there are different levels of computer and NCRS website experience.
We're all here for the same reason..... love of Corvettes.
Peace to all.- Top

Re: Why? Because we're spoiled
I can't agree more with the concept of abusing a good thing such as the regulars who consistenly AND frequently supply answers to even the "dumb dumb" questions (yours truely included) but isn't it up to the responder to call the shots on what they can, can't or won't respond to?
I know just from reading his posts, that Joe is a top shelf guy who would burn up the pages of his reference books just to help a fellow enthusiest. For that, I for one am extreemly grateful. That's what makes Mr. Lucia a prime target.
How many times have frequent responders shut down the silly and repetative posts by referring people to the archives.
I have to tell you, in trying to plow through the archives, I would much rather run the risk of a brow beating by kindly asking the dreaded boring/repetative question. At least the responses are relevant and timely.
The archives quite frankly are less than stellar in the manner in which the threads are viewed. I asked yesterday for information I knew was discussed regarding valve lash adjustment in an attempt not to burden the tech board with yet "another" repetative question. I got everything BUT info on valve lash and I gave up after ten minutes of dead ends!
I know this is long winded but I'm confident that Joe is more than capable in deciding what's a P.I.T.A. question and whether or not he wants to respond to it.
Sorry you got your skull caved in Gary.
