    Water pump leaks

I have a 62 Corvette with a Ramjet 350 crate engine with a T10 4 speed and use a stock GM water pump. I have replaced the 4 water pump gaskets a number of times but after a few hundred miles I get water seeping at the pump gasgets and have to retighten the bolts. I use FelPro gaskets, Permatex #2 and torque the 4 bolts and it still developes leaks.
    Any remidies for this situation?
I'm heading to CA from Ohio and need to eliminate this situation.
    Thanks,
    Bruce B.

The motor mount surface where the gaskets line up is a prime area of leakage.. On mine it was quite pitted. Also try using a high temp. RTV on the gasket surfaces and the bolts.

Bruce, Use an appropriate thread sealer on the mounting bolts. They pass through into the water jacket and that is a likely source for your leak. Regards, B. Myers
