    C1 Bracket Help Please

I know, these brackets almost look home made ... someone really butchered them. What are they for?
Thanks again for your help, Kent #6201

144 views and no guesses. I don't know either but the reinforcing dimples in the one break tells me they were machine stamped. They do look like they were cut to fit soething that they weren't designed to do. I wouldn't be suprised if they were not a Corvette part at all but were used to make something "work" at some time. Where did you get them? They look like a corner reiforcement on a washing machine cabinet.

These could be modified exhaust pipe hangers that are located at the middle "X" portion of your frame.

        Tom ----

I don't remember where they appeared in my collection. Corvettes owned have included:
1954 E54S001362, my first, for which I collected parts 12 years and sold it when we moved and had no room to keep it.
1971 - roadster with removable hard top, a complete driver, cosmetically restored, now sold.
1967 - Duntoved the car in 1994 at Seven Springs National Convention.
1969 - Just brought it home, a one owner 427/435 coupe.

The Bubbaized brackets definitely were machine stamped and punched. Most likely, they fit somewhere in an interior since their gauge is insufficient for engine compartment or underneath for mufflers, etc. They have been with my early (53-55) Corvette parts for many years as I was purchasing parts to restore a car that was simply a chassis and body when I fell in love again.

Thanks for your help. Kent #6201
