Does Al Knock or anyone else make a video of the proper installation technique for a 58-62 padded dash? this will be the first time I have attempted to install one and would not be happy If I ruined a new $300 dash pad.

Re: C1 padded dash install
John,
I don't think you will find a video on the dash install, however the Restorer has some very good articles. I did one a little over a year ago, several people on the NDB offered to send me copies, one did. Now it's my turn to offer you the same assist. E-mail me off-line and I'll help you find the info.

Re: C1 padded dash install
In addition to the Restorer articles, which are very helpful, I did about five "dry runs" before putting down the adhesive. Every time you put it in place it will get easier. Don't be afraid to make small marks on the dash and the pad that will align when the pad is in the proper place. Always start in the middle and work your way to the outside. And use plastic "slip sheets" to keep the pad from sticking in places before you're ready. I did mine by myself but a couple of assistants would be very helpful. Should something go wrong have a supply of solvent for the contact cement handy, you can remove the pad with the solvent. This is something I practiced on a scrap piece before the real job (a piece of the old pad will work).- Top
