I would like to know if the brake rod clevis on a 71 w/ power brakes attaches to the top hole or bottom hole on the brake pedal lever. My AIM seems to show (in an exploded view) dotted lines where both are attached to the bottom hole. This is not possible however it seems a PB car should have the clevis in the bottom hole and the bracket will only fit on the bottom hole. Signed, Very Confused.

Re: 71 Brake Switch Bracket Location
Larry I just looked at my 70 with power brakes and backing up my observation with Corvette illustration parts catalog of a picture of the 71-77 brake pedal the top hole is for mounting the stop lamp switch striker. The power brake rod mounts in the bottom hole.- Top

Re: 71 Brake Switch Bracket Location
Jim, Thanks. I guess the stop lamp switch striker that I have is for manual brakes. I was kind of afraid of that, it took me a long time to find the one that I have (see attached illustration). I guess I can have an extension welded on to this so that I can attach the bracket to the top hole.
