On my 68 upper rear deck, there was some previous damage that had been repaired with fiberglass cloth and epoxy. I have the rear deck off the car and have removed all epoxy and cloth.
I have access to another 68 upper panel, how much should I take off the donar panel and how best to do this repair? Should I take just about the rear 4 inches and glue it under the deck or should I take the rear 18 inches or so and glue under the deck up to where the rear tub bonds to the upper panel? This would make for the most "invisible" repair, but it may be difficult to bond this much without getting bubbles between the two pieces?
Another way would be to splice the decks at the bonding area where the tub and uppder deck bond?
Any suggetions?
I want the best looking and yet solid repair as possible.
Thanks,
Steve
