C2 Under dash sound deadener

The photo below shows the material I received. I can see where the upper left piece fits, but I struck out on the others. The pieces of string mark serated lines which I assume are intended to separate the material into several pieces. I need a little help placing the other pieces. There are only a few places under the dash, and I'm a tad embarassed that I can't visualize the placements.

I do not recall how mine went together but I did not cut any of the parts. Match the holes up to holes on the firewall and then bend the pad around the corners. It does fit. Once the large piece goes on, the location for the smaller one becomes more obvious.

I thought the original material was more of a tan color?

Here are a couple of photos of the insulation installed. DO NOT CUT IT APART!!!
It fits as it is diecut..... Just spray the area with 3M Spray 77 adhesive.



The original insulation was a tan color so you'll receive a few point deduct for originality on the gray just as I did.

You are correct, Page. The original material has a different color. Tan, light brown rather than the green-blue replacements. Given the lack of a proper replacement and the fact that it is difficult to find intact originals, it's about the only choice. The black "cover board" material also has a different texture. If I'm judging, its usually only a point deduct if installed properly and not damaged.

Hi Nick,
I agree with your one point dedection which is has little effect on the total points. It's such a hard piece to install, that you need to do it when the car is disassembled and how difficult can it be that they can't find tan jute to make a correct looking piece. Does anyone know of a vendor who sells the correct material.
