    $4,000.01

...Based on that, I'd quess you owe me about $3,500.01 on the one I "gave" you.

With slightly over 6,000 F.I. equipped Corvettes built in 1957, you'd think someone would repro that baby...

          Second highest bid was $4000.00

The winner got it only because he added the extra penny to his bid amount.

Betcha he feels pretty cocky bout that..

                  Re: 57 FI A56C aircleaner

John..which came first Blue or Black?

                  A56C Air cleaner?

The black one in this picture came from a Nov.'56 car and the blue one from a Jan.'57 car.

Certainly..they could have been replaced over the years...but both cars were parked in 67...

Was not aware of anything but blue useage...

...other than the very early funny looking enclosed cleaners...

Re: Was not aware of anything but blue useage...

                      Dennis..the used blue filter as pictured is embossed with;

                      AC SPARK PLUG DIV.
                      Air Cleaner TYPE A56C

This is the air cleaner element from my Eb Rose unrestored 57 Black Widow Fuelie engine..built in Jan.'57 as I recall

The used black filter is from the 57 Nassau/Daytona car and is embossed with:

                      AC TYPE A56C

It appears slightly smaller in diameter. This is an Oct/Nov 56 engine...with the prototype 4360 unit

Both engines idle at least since '67
