Shock #5394579

Can someone tell me the application for this shock#? Is it a spiral shock?

59 buick rear with air suspension also 53-61 corvette rear

My Delco shock absorber catalog dated 1957 says that shock #5394579 fits 1950-54 Chevy truck(3/4 ton) rear. Since I am in the old car shock business ,I also know that this shock is about 1 1/2" longer than the shocks on 53-59 Corvettes. 1960-62 shocks are a little closer,but still the truck shocks are an inch longer. This extra length may bottom out on a bump and damage the shocks or mounts.I know of no other Delco spiral that is the same length as the originals on 53-59'
