Question on '70-'72 new old stock exhaust pipes

I have the chance to purchase a nos exhaust system for my cars. In looking at my P&A 1971 book the RH 3869584 & LH 3973875 have been changed to RH 334932 & LH 334929 in my P&A 1973 book. The secondary pipes and muffler part #'s did not change.

Can someone tell me what the differences are? I am assuming the later part #'s are for '73 454 application and then used as service replacements for the 1970 to 1972 454 cars.

Your "original" originals were one piece from the center crossmember to the outlet of the muffler. None of the '71 service replacements were offered that way, so why agonize over an incorrect replacement part?

yeah but those pipes will have the right look as what came on the car with the ridges in the pipes. you can all ways weld them to the mufflers.
