    C1 motor deck ??

Can you c2 people tell me if a 61 vette has a motor deck with broach lines that are factory stamped as the C2s do on the R/F of motor? Also are their trim/vin tags under glove compartment? I believe the block casting on a 61 is 3789935 ?

    Re: C1 motor deck ??

The factory process for taking a raw block casting to a finished engine was pretty much the same in C1 days as it was in C2 days and YES, judges expect to see broach marks on the stamp pad for 1961 283 motors.

No, the process of applying a trim tag to the car didn't begin on Corvette until the release of the Sting Ray model in 1963. But, the earlier cars DID have factory installed VIN tags affixed either to the body or to the steering column depending on model year.

Casting number, unless you have a VERY LATE 61 is 3756519--even then, some late cars still used 3756519.
