Black Phosphate Hood Latch C3 Test

First time picture post so I am unsure if this will link or not. This is one of the 2 black phosphate male hood latches that were refinished by a fellow NCRS member. These had been painted gloss black and were a deduction during flight judging. On close inspection they now have a crystaline appearance like NOS. Question regarding picture posting if you want to link a second picture should I add the website in the message box or just post the link under "optional link URL"?

Re: How can I make the pics appear larger?

      Charles,

Before you upload your pictures to the website, resize the original to 640 pixel width to 480 pixel height. The width is more important then the height.
The 640 width will then just fit most screens, you don't have to scroll over, and results in a file size about 100-200 KB (which most upload sites take very easy).

The photos you posted in the above post are too small initially. If you upload all your photos at 640 width, then you don't have to worry about the file size for emailing. You can just copy and paste the link to the photo in your email.
You can also add additional pictures in your post by paste-ing the links to the other photos in the text of the post.

I'm glad to see you like the black phosphate on the hood latches, one of these days I'm going to do mine on my 67. But that's another project, another day. Too much going these days.

        Picture Posting Test

        Charles,

Here's how to post a photo link in the text or in the optional image URL link:

You can also post a second picture in the text of the post or the optional link:

As you know these are your hood latches. You made it easy for me by doing all the prep (the hardest part).

If you want to post a third picture, put it in the text of your message:

All of these pictures are uploaded to my photo website at 640X480 first.
Then I log out to the photo website, highlight the photo I want, right click and copy the direct link. Then without closing the photo website, I log on the the forum, post a message, and the right click and paste the direct link in the appropriate place.

Once I have pasted one, I then use the back and forth arrows at the upper left of the screen to go back to my photo website, copy and then forward to paste in the message. Sounds complicated but try it and you'll find it easy.

          Re: Picture Posting Test

Okay here is the same 2 pictures that I sized. I notice that the left side hinge, which you can see by opening the link, appears somewhat "rusty" in the JPG. I believe this is because the pics were shot at night, in the garage with extremely low light. They are in fact a black/gray and they look very much like the back of the pair I took off the C3 that were painted on the obverse only. Hopefully the pics will size to the discussion format. Pictures are alot more interesting and I will use them more if this works.

            Re: Picture Posting Test

            Charles,

Sorry, I think there is something wrong with the site you are using, or the link you are posting. The site wants you to sign up and give them your email address, which few will do. If there is a choice of links to copy at your site, pick the "direct link" to the image.

If that doesn't work, try another upload site, like Imageshack or Photobucket.
            I use ImageShack.
