Just bought my neighbors 61 and am new to Vettes. I am in process of cleaning up this very original car (neighbor owned it since 1963). Eventually I would like to perform a frame off restoration but am now just trying to detail the engine compartment. Any suggestions on what refernce material to use to ensure I am keeping things more or less original and correct? Thanks. Paul

Re: c1
Congratulations! If the car is very original I would strongly suggest you have a knowledgeable NCRS person look at it BEFORE you do anything. It could be a candidate for the Bow Tie award which is for original cars. You can always restore it but it is only original once. Don H.- Top

Welcome aboard Paul
I hope your friend told you how addicting this hobby can be before he sold you the car. Agree that you should probably have the car looked at before anything is done to it.
As for information, good start would be buying a Judging Manual. You can search the archives on this board as most questions have been asked at one time or another. If you can't find the answer DO NOT hestitate to ask, remember there is no such thing as a dumb question, only dumb answers. Good Luck
