    1962 Corvette Radio

What is the difference between the 1961 wonder bar and the 1962 wonder bar radios? Was the 1962 a tube or transistor radio and did the 1962 radio have the capacitor and transformer hanging off the back? What should the push buttons look like? Thanks, Rick

The '62 wonderbar has tubes, the push buttons have the concave curves in the front, and the transformer is on the back. That said, the Wonderbar in our 3/62 build car has the transformer on side, but I have no way to know whether it's the original radio or not.

The change from side to rear transformer location was early in the '62 model year. The JG indicates some side mounted configurations in original cars as late as the low 3000 serial number range.
