My AIM shows the heater control lines and some of the underhood lines bundled with some tape. What is the proper type of tape that should be used?

That is a good question and I hope someone else comments on it besides me. But, I believe it was a type of black cloth tape. Hard to describe. That is atleast what I think it was. Famous for falling off the first time you drove the car around the block. Terry -

Sounds good to me. I have never seen it on a corvette because most of the time it fell off or something. But, when I have worked on other older Chevrolet cars I have seen a black cloth like tape used. Electrical tape sounds good to me also. Do you have a low low milage 69? TerryComment

Most of the bundles were black electrical tape. These were the vacuum lines with the wiring harness. The emission control lines were taped with cloth tape. (evac and pvc lines) I have had to replace the cloth tape after six years after a piece started to unravel and droped on the exhaust manifold. Just enough smoke to scare you.
