    1967 tire size

What is the modern size numbers for the the old 7.75 X 15 tire for the 67 Corvette. Will a 215/75/15 fit under the wheel weld and run OK? Thanks.

        Re: 1967 tire size

I have 215/75/15 in front and 225/75/15 in rear with no problem on my 67.

As per Duke, and with 6" wheels, I have not experienced any fitment problems.

Do either or both of these tire sizes, 215/70-15 & 215/75-15 on 6" rims, also fit within the spare tire tub? I have a 65 Roadster that did not have a spare tire when I purchased it. The tires on the car are muct too wide to fit within the spare tire tub, but I'm looking for one that's the same diameter as the rear tires because of the limited slip rear end.

            Thanks in advance.

              Jason -

Chances are that a modern tire of that size won't fit in an original spare tire tub; the reproduction tubs are slightly larger in diameter than the originals, and they'll accept a modern 205/75-15 radial, using the "long" (10-1/4") front hanger bolts that were originally used on cars with goldline or redline tires.
