    Two 5-quart oil pan shapes?

Take a look at this stubby version of the 5-quart pan. What was its original year model and engine application?

    The long version.

This is the most common shape I've seen for a 5-quart pan from a 1963 through 1965 high performance small block.

I agree with Mike - the pan he's trying

to sell is the 4 Qts plus one in the filter pan, NOT the 63-5 Solid lifter pan.

Isn't the dipstick on the wrong (passenger) side on the first one?

Yes it is, and that windage isn't correct for the 5 quart pan either.

              Jerry------

The pan in the eBay auction is NOT a "6 quart" oil pan (5+1). It's a "5 quart" oil pan (4+1).

Also, it's not even a 1963-74 Corvette pan, at all. It's a 1980-82 Corvette oil pan of GM #14067363 or a 1984-85 oil pan of GM #14082350. Both pans are virtually identical and the latter replaced the former for 80-82 SERVICE.

This configuration pan, either in its 63-74 design or the 80-85 design was NEVER, EVER used in a 1962 Corvette or any other C1 Corvette. All 1955-62 Corvettes used a "3 step" pan and NEVER a "2 step" pan.

I notice that the pan for sale seems to have several "non-original" dents, too. Plus, it has a non-original, "bashed-in" oil drain plug area.
