    '66 date codes

I am looking at a 66 that is VIN#3,XXX, and the trim tag has a body build date of F01 (February 1, 1966) St. Louis Body. My books say that a serial #3,000 should be built in October '65. What could be going on here? I thought maybe a fake trim tag, but the trim codes are for Mossport green/green, not what I would think someone would fake. The car right now is blue/black. Any thoughts?

Jeremy, Either the original trim tag or serial number tag has been changed at some point. FWIW, Dave

Yes. If I bought the car and did a frame off, it would be interesting to find out what VIN is on the frame.
