    C3 P215-65/15 Ride hight

    Hi All,
Could some one tell me what the ride hight for a 72 in the rear would be?
    Thank you,
    Rob

    Rob-----

The overall diameter of a P215-65-R15 tire is right at 26". The overall diameter of an F-70-15 tire originally used on all 1968-72 Corvettes is right at 27". So, a P215-65-R15 is going to reduce the ride height by about 1/2" from the original specs. You can refer to the AIM for those specs and adjust accordingly. Of course, there are a myriad of reasons why your car may be out-of-spec. In that case, the difference in ride height will be about 1/2 the difference in OD of the tires you are running now as compared to the 215-65-70.

I would be more concerned with the added inaccuracy to your speedometer and odometer; 216/65s will add about 5 percent (high) relative to 215/70s, which read about 2 percent high.

For all C3s I recommend one of the "US brand" V-rated 225/70R-15 "police pursuit tires".

...many discussions in the archives, and The Tire Rack has all the tech specs for every tire they sell as do the tire manufacturers' web sites.
