Spare tire board cushions

Hi all

I just refinished my spare tire board for my 62 vette. I purchased a package of cushions for it. (3 in the package). My board did not have any on it so I don't know where they go. Where do these cushions go? Can some one please tell me where and how do these 3 cushions go? Whats used to mount them?

John, my original board has them obviously on the backside in a triangle pattern around the bolt mount in the center. They are space about an inch to inch and a half from the opening and applied with what appears to be yellow glue similar to, if not exactly what is used to apply weather strip.
