C2 headlight housing & bucket opening

Hello,

the clearances of left an right headlight housings with the buckt openings are both the same at a first glance. Without started engine the left headlight opens not completely it hangs at a certain point. If you turn it a bit further with the knob and then use the switch again it opens. Closing is no problem. If you have a closer look you see that somehow the housing ginds a the outer bucket opening and some paint is chipped off. If you stick a sheet of paper in the gap you experience that there is no real clearance after a few inches. Does anybody have a clue what the cause of the problem may be? Thanks in advance.

40 years of hard knocks most likely. There are too many causes to try to note here. You are going to have to get in there and work out the opening and adjust the bucket to work properly. You might be able to go to the ends of the pivots and readjust the stop ends to reposition the bucket enough to work.
