I've found that this is one of the most frustrating things you can do to a C2 coupe. I've done both of my doors twice now, and each time I think I'm doing as much damage as I am trying to fix. I wrap my window in a towel and carefully lower it into the bottom of the door. Now locate the wide washer/nut and stud on the bottom of the vent frame/channel assembly. You'll find this stud poking through the bottom of the inner door panel. How much this stud sticks out past the washer/nut is the lower frame adjustment. Note how much this is and then remove the washer/nut and pop the stud back through the door panel. This allows the bottom of the window channel to widen a bit, usually just enough to get the window started into the channel. Upon success, have someone hold the window in place while you poke that stud back through the door panel and get the washer/nut screwed back to where it was originally. You should now be able to raise the window in the channel and start the attachment to the window raiser assembly. Try not to scratch that window.
You will curse. You will bleed. You may do a little damage. But with some patience, you will succeed.
Good Luck!
