I am spending Easter Sunday troubleshooting my fuel gauge. I just followed instructions in a well written article of Corvette Enthusiast by John Hinckley. It seems power is where it is supposed to be (both places) and the ground at the sender is good. The sender is working properly according to all the instructions. However, my gauge reads in reverse to what the sender is putting out, that is, push the senders' float down in the tank and the needle moves toward Full! The question is, can I simply reverse the connections on the back of the gauge to make everything work correctly? My instrument cluster is out of the car on a bench so swapping wires is quite easy.

Re: 1963 Fuel Gauge Diagnostic
I think I just answered my own question. I just looked in the assembly manual schematic and the light green (12V)wire seems to be going to the "top" of the "T" in the connector and the brown wire goes to the base of the "T". It seems my wiring harness was wired incorrectly! Does this sound right?- Top
