    1972 Protect-O-Plate

I have a line on buying protect-o-plate and was wondering who does the

    embossing/lettering on these plates?

What's a ballpark price on these? (so I don't get ripped off)

I have four nice "GM" pieces of tape.

Is the lettering backwards on this tape? (name-address-delivery date)

What other information are on these plates?

Do these plates have a design or specific shape?

The one I am looking at has a wavey top and bottom to it. Is this correct?

    Thanks, Dave 44975

    Re: 1972 Protect-O-Plate

This topic has been up for a couple of days now and I haven't had one reply ???

Is this the NCRS telling me I stepped across the line here ???

Is this subject that TABOO that someone can't even tell me??

I am new to this and have joined the NCRS so I could get the information to

    restore my vehicle.

I read somewhere you could get a POP from another(same year) vehicle and would

only be deducted for points as "not original" even though it it not the correct

POP for my vehicle? Is this true?

All I need is some guidence here? Is that possible?

      Dave--
You may be overreacting a bit--just two topics down from yours is my question about 68 hardtop dates--it also has no responses. Some topics get lots of attention, others get lost. If you haven't already invested in the judging manual and the judging reference manual, that's where to start. If the info is not in there, contact the judging chairman and ask him. When you say "I read somewhere...." where was that? NCRS publication? We're here to help. Your second post sounds a little bit like you're trying to bite the hand that you want to feed you. That never works well.

        Dave,

Forget the POP. If you don't have the original one, why pay big bucks for an item that gets you one or two judging points. I don;t have one, and it has not stoped me from getting Top Flight.

          Re: 1972 Protect-O-Plate

Thank you....that's kind of what I'm looking for.

It's like horsepower...what gets you the MOST horsepower for the money.

Like you said, I will trade a couple of points as a deduction and save BIG

          money trying to duplicate something.

Again, for all reading my threads...I am NOT trying to "fool anyone", but in

fact want a Corvette pedigree, showing what a little time (money) and hard work

can bring. The satisfaction of a real Corvette treasure!

          What more is there?
