C2; Is this an original radiator?

I have a (ugly looking) radiator in my 1966 A/C, A.I.R, Powerglide coupe that does not look original compared to most of the literature I've seen except for one picture in "The Complete Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide - Vol. 2 1963 through 1967" on page 339 (please see optional URL Link). I'm refering to the outlets. Can someone please tell me if the radiators in these two pictures are original? Or are they replacements?
And what does number 8 mean on the extra metal piece on left side on my radiator?

    Appreciate any help on this.

    Hans-----

The radiators in BOTH pictures (yours and the excerpt from the book) are absolutely NOT original radiators. They are a copper brass replacement for the original GM #3155316 aluminum radiator used for all 63-67 Corvette small blocks. Someone has placed a Harrison aluminum radiator sticker on yours, but it's just a sticker and not the whole radiator.

The one in your picture looks like it might have had the top fitting repaired and/or replaced.

Joe, Do you have a good pic of the top of a original radiator for a 66 327/300?

You might want to check with the Dewitt company. They make an accurate reproduction of your radiator. If you check the archives or do a google search you can find their web site.

Take a look here. I bought a repro DeWitts Harrison rad for my 66. It was almost perfect. Pricey but very good. It allowed me to enjoy my car on the highway again.

              I haven't seen a current DeWitts repro...

but I have a recollection of the early versions and they lacked the 'oval depressions' on the top surface I'm used to seeing on original aluminum Harrison radiators of the period... I've guessed these depressions were from the factory original tooling (progressive die?) that formed the upper cover. Those of you with recent reproduction radiators, do you have these marks?
