anyone know if the date on the trim tag and the date on the blue cert label on the inside of the drivers side door are the same? i don't know if the blue cert label was attached at the same time as the trim tag or if it was stuck on the car after the body was attached to the frame. or maybe even during final inspection???

The trim tag was affixed after painting as the car began its way down the assembly line. The blue label, which has only month and year, went on as the car came off the assembly line. Normally it is the same month as the trim tag, but could be the next month if building of the car started on the last two or three working days of a month. We have judged what appeared to be an original one that was several months later than the trim tag, and that had lots of experts scratching their heads. -

I belive a 74 will have the weights on the blue label as well as the date.Comment

The GVW was added in January 1972 and continued on all models after that as far as I know. Lyle, you know more about later C3s than I.Comment
