250th and 263rd day of 1958. I believe that is September 7 and September 20 of 1958. The E is for Eaton Spring. The springs would be correct for an early 1959 Corvette.

I hope this doesn't break the "marketing on the forum" rule, but if George is planning to sell those, I have been looking for a pair.

5 leaf? Should be 4, unless it is an RPO car--don't have the 7-digit number for each at my fingertips, but 5-leaf RPO springs and 4-leaf springs have different part numbers.

Is the number I posted correct for 4 leaf or 5 leaf springs? The set I am looking at are 5 leaf. I am trying to purchase/trade for these, but I need to know what they are.
Dave, I need a set for my '60 687 car. Can you tell me a realistic market value for these? Thanks, G.

This whole spring thing is a mystery, and everyone seems to have a different opinion. I talked to Noland about this once and he was sure there were RPO 684 cars with 4-leaf springs at a stiffer rate. 3751438 is the general number for 4-leaf springs on all '58 through '60 Corvettes. A known '59 RPO car had 5-leaf rear springs with the number 3748143.

Seems like set you have found could be a modified 4-leaf set.

I have absolutely no idea what 5-leaf springs should cost. Not exactly an efficient market for them, being so scarce. I guess you'd have to say they are worth whatever someone was willing to pay.

My early production (Nov.57) 1958 RPO 684 has the 3748143 (5 leaf springs) with matching May 57'dates

Thanks Justin. How are you progressing with your project? Got any left over Big Brake stuff for me? G.

George, Things are going well with the restoration, kind of slow, but good. The chassis and drivetrain are finished. The car was then put on the back burner thanks to some other unexpected projects but I hope to start on it again soon. As for leftover goodies...well I was quite fortunate that my car had most of its RPO 684 equipment still intact so my search for parts was limited to front and rear shocks, rear brake cylinders, front and rear brake shoes, and only one of its eight special brake return springs. I have found all of these parts except for the one brake spring. So, as for leftovers....there aren't any but if you tell me what you need then I will keep my eyes open for you. Justin
