The question should be asked whether the cap is for judging or driving. Based on a recent Corvette magazine article, non-vented for driving. For judging, that is a different story.

        Joe -

Not really; to clarify, ALL C1 gas caps starting with the 3742472 in mid-'57 and continuing with the 3751027 used from '58-'62 and the 3751022 and 3764641 also used from '59 through mid-'61 were NON-VENTED, although none were stamped with that wording. The tank was vented into the filler cavity from mid-'57 through '62, and the caps were not (I wrote that article in the May, 2006 issue of "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine).

          Hi John

I have a 62 vette with a (F&E)Fuller-Emerson name on the gas cap. I was told that is correct for 62..Not sure of the other years but was under the impression Fuller-Emerson was for all C1 vettes and Stant was for other Chevys. Is this correct or was I given some wrong info?

            John -

There were several gas cap suppliers during that era, and several were used interchangeably; the Fuller-Emerson cap used from '58-'62 was P/N 3751027.

The Standt and Eaton caps may have been used on earlier cars...All non vented.
