74 blue cert label inside drivers door jam

can anyone give me the weights off of the blue certification label thats located inside the drivers side door jam. a 74 small block with an automatic transmission would be great but i'll take what i can get at this point. i have the blank sticker, i just need to know the weights.

Geno mine is a '74 BB 4 speed convertible so these numbers may not be correct for your car but here they are:
    GVWR 4322 GAWR FRT 2109 REAR 221

Then it shows the VIN and in the top r/h corner mine shows the date 01/74

    Hope this helps.

      Hey Geno, this may help.
This is typed just below, and in BLOCK letters

MFD BY GENERAL MOTORS CORP "00/74" ----- your date.

      "GVWR 4126 GAWR FRT 1952 REAR 2174" ----- weights.

THIS VEHICLE CONFORMS TO ALL APPLICABLE

FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS IN

EFFECT ON THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE SHOWN

ABOVE. " vin number" ------- your vin. #

" PASSENGER CAR" ------ this is typed also.

        Geno

Try to look at a label on a 73-74 before you start typing as your results will be much better. Their is lots of detail in the typing. The first example forgot one number in the weights as they should add up.

you guys are the best. thank you all. does anyone know if the month/year that is typed on the sticker matches the trim tag date or if the sticker is put on after the body is mated to the frame??

On earlier C3 (1969-1972) the door sticker is one of the last items applied to the car. I suspect 1974 is the same, but you might want to wait for more input from those in the know about 1974s.

do you mean the blue sticker was affixed AFTER the body was mated to the frame and the engine was put in?

Yes, in the case of 1969-1972 that is true.
How do we know, you might ask. Cars with trim tag dates on and near the last working day of one month often have a date on the certification label of the next month.

Re: 74 blue cert label inside drivers door jam

The federal legislation that created the Certification Label specified that it not be affixed until the car was a "completed vehicle". These days, the printer that creates the Cert Label is tied into the Factory Information System, and if the car has any uncorrected torque issues, safety inspection open items, or any failures during the emission test portion of the roll-test procedure, the printers are electronically blocked from creating the Cert Label, window sticker, or car shipper for that VIN number until the open items are corrected and any required re-tests are passed successfully.
